I started building and flying model aircraft in 1966 and have continued ever since without a break. My passion has always been Free Flight and in particular the International power class, F1c. I am proud to have represented the BMFA and the UK in that class at 21 World or European Championships over a forty nine year period. Although I specialise in F1c I am interested in all branches of model flying.
I served on the FFTC for several years in the 1970’s and 1980’s. I have been the CD at many competitions over the years. I have been a member of the FFTC from 2015 and have undertaken the duties of PRO since then.
I want to see Free Flight have a healthy future in the UK and around the World. I would like to make a positive contribution to the work that the FFTC does to help achieve this.

I have been an an Aeromodeller since the age of 8 and am now 75, during that time I have built and flown free flight, control line and radio models but for the last 50 years have majored on free flight classes embracing glider, rubber, IC power and more laterally electric.
Although not important to the work on the FFTC I have both a Silver and Gold team medal from European and World Championships in F1A with a highest individual placing of 8th and have won many British National Contests and events across a number of disciplines and classes
I have previously enjoyed serving on the FFTC and my last role was secretary a post I held for 3 years. I am a team worker prepared to be a leader or supporter as the
situation may require but always prepared to make appropriate challenge when things do not seem right.

I have been an aero modeller since the age of 7, although I dabbled in most spheres Free Flight as always been my passion. I served an apprenticeship at Rolls Royce Derby, then moved into engineering and was involved in high tech manufacture as diverse as single crystal turbine blades and steel fabrications.
I have flown most most types of Free Flight models, representing GB in all three F1 Classes. i have always been a staunch supporter of the British FF scene flying Open class models, vintage models and many of the smaller classes unique to the GB FF scene.
In the organisational sphere I have served on the Free Flight Technical committee many times since the mid 1980s including a spell as chairman, I have also been FF Nationals co-ordinator on 2 occasions along with managing 2 Junior World Champs teams and and assistent manager at several World and European Championships.
The fact that I support all aspects of free flight makes me a strong candidate for this position as I want all types of Free Flight to prosper in these difficult times.
If elected I will do my best to support Free Flight in GB
